Hello "Nroose" and welcome to Wikipedia. A few tips for you:

Heya. If you find a link that points to the wrong article, you should fix it and, if appropriate, set up a disambiguation page. No-One Jones (talk) 04:40, 6 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Sabot

[edit]

It would be great if you would add an article re the Sabot (dinghy) even if the article is initially very basic. It will encourage others to add more info. Thanks, Boatman

To Do for Sailing

[edit]

Figure out how to reconcile all the sailing templates. There are at least 3 lists of dinghy classes. It would be nice if we had one template that handled both ISAF and non-ISAF classes.

Perhaps separate out Skiff and Scow lists.

Make sure that the existing links in those lists are linked to the boat, and not something like "Snipe" which is a bird.

Add to templates:

  • J105 (keelboats/yachts) Perhaps also add other J classes, at least the ones that *have/had active racing - 27, 29, 35, 120.
  • Inter Club
  • Albacore
  • Vanguard 15
  • C-Class cats (Probably not B and D class cats, though.)
  • FT18 or whatever that cat is called.
  • Farr 40
  • Cal 40
  • Schock 40 - just 'cause it was an interesting design.
  • Transpac 52
  • GL70s
  • VO60
  • VO70

There are lots of other classes. Perhaps too many to mention.

Perhaps add a page for JBoats boats, and just list all of the boats thay have produced with an approximate # they made, design date, and whether they have or are racing actively as a class. Perhaps also do that with X Yachts, Catalina, Beneteau

Add a page for Hobie cats, since there are so many on the list, and pages for none. Link all the Hobie cats to the main Hobie page.

Perhaps add an article for Joel White. Look for other designers, and add pages for them if necessary.

Other sailing personalities - sailors, designers, builders - need to be in Wikipedia as well.

Americas cup needs more recent information.

Linked dates on announcements page

[edit]

I relinked the dates so that they would appear in the user's preferred format, but if it breaks the RSS, go ahead and delink them again - it might be wise to leave a commented explanation of why they are not linked, to dissuade anyone from linking them again. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Nroose! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 331 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
